Tuchel fires Christensen due to a contract dispute.

Andreas Christensen has been sacked by Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel due to the defender’s refusal to sign a new deal with the London club.

Christensen has made 13 appearances for Chelsea this season, but has not played since the 1-1 draw with Burnley on November 6th. The present contract of the Danish international ends at the end of the season.
Tuchel addressed a news conference ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Watford, “We have to hope that it influences the contract issue a little bit.”
“We’ve been waiting for confirmation for a long time. Andreas must act as he does on the field off the field and walk the talk.” Andreas wants the same thing as me and the club, it was my understanding a few weeks ago “He tells us that he adores Chelsea and that he wants to stay and be a significant part of the club because he is a significant component of a major club. I believe he is the ideal candidate; nevertheless, he is not yet finished with his time here, and his career here is not yet complete.”

Chelsea leads the Premier League by a point over Manchester City in second place. Watford is three points clear of the relegation zone.
