A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jomoro MP Dorcas Afffo Toffey by the Sekondi High Court.
Following her absence from the hearing on Monday, Sedina Agbemava, the case’s presiding judge, made the pronouncement.
When Madam Toffey allegedly refused to appear before the Registrar of the court to submit documentation demonstrating her renunciation of Ivorian citizenship as ordered by a Sekondi High Court, Joshua Emuah Kofie of Nuba-Mpataba in the constituency filed a contempt action against her.

The NDC legislator was sued earlier this year for allegedly having dual citizenship before to the 2020 election.
As a result, her eligibility to represent the Jomoro constituency in Parliament was questioned.
Despite filing a stay of execution against the High Court’s order that she submit documentation showing her renunciation of her supposed Ivorian citizenship, the application was denied in July.
