The Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) says it has not yet received details of disbursements amounting to $75.01 million transferred in respect of the Agenda 111 Project to the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF).

The Committee stated in its 2022 Semi-Annual Report that in the first half of 2022, an amount of US$25.62 million was transferred to the GIIF, which was second tranche to an amount of $49.39 million (GHC290,377,059.18) allocated in 2021.

PIAC contends that it has not received any statement of financial expenditure and receipts relating to the disbursement, yet the GIIF insists the entire disbursement was used to support the Agenda 111 Project of the Government.

PIAC has therefore made recommendations that Government should direct subsequent disbursements supporting the Agenda 111 Project to the Ministry of Health.

PIAC added that “additionally, GIIF should focus the utilization of its share of ABFA on its core mandate of investing funds in commercial infrastructural projects, in accordance with the GIIF Act, 2014 (Act 877) and policy guidelines of the Fund”.
