Naby Keita, a midfielder for Liverpool, has fled Guinea following a military takeover in the West African country and is on his way back to England, according to British media.

The 26-year-old was set to play in Guinea’s World Cup qualifier against Morocco in Conakry on Monday until the match was called off after military deposed President Alpha Conde on Sunday and then dissolved the government.
Despite the fact that the country’s borders were purportedly closed, the Moroccan team was permitted to return home safely later that day.
For commercial and humanitarian reasons, the country’s land and air borders were reopened on Monday, according to a military official.
Liverpool had previously stated that they were working with relevant authorities to securely return their player to the United Kingdom.

Keita started Liverpool’s first two league games and came off the bench in their 1-1 tie with Chelsea at Anfield. On Sunday, Liverpool will face Leeds United, who is managed by Juergen Klopp.
