At Nambahala, in the Savelugu Municipality, National Security officials apprehended 33 people suspected of having ties to terrorist organizations in Burkina Faso and Mali.

According to a reporter, the accused were all flown to Accra over the weekend.

He continued, “National Security believes it has information showing that five of them have ties with terrorists in Burkina Faso and Mali.”

“The objective is an Islamic study facility in the village, where 33 people were apprehended and transported to Accra.

As I speak, we are learning that 27 of these individuals have been given bail, while the remaining five, including the owner of the Islamic institution, remain in the custody of National Security,” a reporter stated.

Residents of Nambahala, according to reports, are scared and apprehensive as a result of the arrests.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Yakubu Musa Bari, General Secretary of the Fulani Welfare Group, has verified the allegation.

He stated that he was called by National Security to interpret the suspects’ language.

“A National Security official summoned me to aid them in their investigations. They informed me about the raid and their suspicions that the accused had ties to terrorism. So I was there to assist in the interpretation of the Fulani language. “National Security was looking into these suspects’ phone conversations,” he added.
