On the Obom-Amasaman section in the Central Region, a middle-aged woman was killed when she was hit by a water tanker vehicle.

Magasuba Mariam, a 39-year-old woman riding a motorcycle, killed instantaneously in the accident.

ACP Oduro Amaning, the Deputy Central East Police Commander, raised concern to Citi News over the amount of indiscipline on the Obom-Amasaman route.

He stated that the driver of the water tanker had reported the event to the police.
The driver, he believes, made a wise decision.

Travelers should also wear crash helmets when riding a motorcycle, according to ACP Oduro Amaning, to reduce the effect on them in the event of an accident.

“They are aware that riding a motorcycle without a helmet is illegal. As a result, we are advising them to wear their crash helmets so that they will be protected in the event of an accident.”
“At the scene, people were reporting the driver had fled, but I’m urging them to take their time because when we arrived at the police station, the driver had reported himself to the police because he felt it was unsafe for him to be there given the scenario and the crowd. So he was wise to realize that the police station was his safest bet.”
