An international cement manufacturing company is looking to hire a competent and proactive Methods Engineer to help with their operations in Ghana.
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting maintenance processes and assisting the mechanical engineer to supervise maintenance jobs and projects.
Promote the maintenance processes, ensuring the application of maintenance procedures, methods, and best practices.
Ensure planning and scheduling of maintenance operations, looking for the optimum use of resources, equipment availability, and maintenance cost.
Drive cross-functional analysis of incidents and maintenance performance, implementing the action plans (mid-term and long-term) to improve both reliability and maintenance practices.
Assist the Mechanical engineer to supervise maintenance jobs and projects.
Collect and handle all the work requests.
Ensure quality of technical specifications for spares and contracted work.
Work on the reduction of imported spares.
Keep library updated and ensure equipment documentation is permanently updated “as-built”.
Develop and ensure the utilization of the Computerised Maintenance Management System when it is implemented (Maximo).
Schedule and prepare weekly mechanical and electrical maintenance planning with the assistance of both Mechanical and Electrical engineers.
Manage maintenance backlog.
Schedule and prepare major shutdowns, ensure coordination with other departments.
Maintain and update the preventive maintenance program.
Review and improve inspection routes.
Assistance of Mechanical engineer:
Take the responsibility of the mechanical team when the mechanical engineer is off.
Supervise specific mechanical tasks when it is requested.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering.
A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a maintenance department in heavy industry (cement, mining, glass, steel, etc).
- Good working knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel and Project) and maintenance management software.
- Ability to understand the complex technical issue.
- Working experience with AUTOCAD.
- Ability to understand and comply with H&S rules.
- Motivation, curiosity, and autonomy.
- Good communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to learn quickly.
