Cases involving the state and dancehall artists Charles Nii Armah Mensah, better known as Shatta Wale, and Samuel Frimpong, better known as Medikal, have been adjourned until January 25, 2022, by the Accra Circuit Court 4.
Jerry Avenorgbo, Shatta Wale’s lawyer, petitioned the court to allow his client to attend various programs outside of the country during the festive season.
Shatta Wale was arrested on October 19, 2021, for impersonating a shooting attack and was charged with inducing fear and panic as well as false news dissemination.
The dancehall star was jailed at Ankaful prison before being released on self-recognizance bail of GH100,000.
Medikal’s lawyer, Pobbi Banson, also asked the court to postpone the case until January 25, 2022, because his client would be on the road performing at events throughout the Christmas season.
The court, presided over by Emmanuel Essandoh, ruled in favor of the plaintiffs.
