Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, a founding member of the New Governing Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that the party’s next presidential candidate must be authentically democratic and not a pretender.

Though the NPP has yet to set a date for its presidential primaries, some high-ranking officials have expressed interest, including Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Trade Minister Alan Kyeremanteng, and Agriculture Minister Dr. Akoto Afriyie.

However, the party’s General Secretary has advised all hopefuls to refrain from campaigning because nominations have not yet been opened.
Dr. Tamakloe, on the other hand, is upset with the way the ruling party handled the MMDCE elections,According to him, the new leader must be able to return the party to its fundamental values.

“I haven’t seen any of the people mentioned, but I am familiar with them physically.” I can guarantee you, however, that this party will return to its roots because it was founded on the sweat of individuals who have sadly passed away.”

“People have suffered as a result of this party’s formation. People did actually die, and I am convinced that whoever is elected to lead this party in the upcoming elections must be a true democratic, not a pretender.”

Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, meanwhile, has accused President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of overseeing a “undemocratic” election of Metropolitan Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

His claims were based on the employment of NPP vigilante groups and the denial of voting rights to some assembly members.
“The experience of violence in which the Assembly’s Presiding Member was assaulted, and the Achiase District was not spared from this heinous deed.” During the confirmation of the DCE nominee for that constituency, an assembly member from this district was also assaulted.”

“Ghana as a country cannot continue in this manner under Nana Akufo-NPP Addo’s leadership. This demonstrates how unpopular and disappointed the people of this country are with the government’s undemocratic actions. Many of these activities took place in places where former nominees were reappointed for another term.”
