Nani, a former Manchester United attacker, has signed an 18-month contract with Venezia, the Serie A club announced on Friday.

After his contract with Orlando City in the US Major League Soccer expired at the beginning of the month, the 35-year-old became a free agent and returns to Italy for the second time, having spent a year on loan at Lazio in 2017-18.
Nani is best remembered for his eight years with Manchester United, during which time he won four Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2008.
Nani scored 24 goals in 112 games for Portugal, appearing in the 2014 World Cup as well as the 2008, 2012, and 2016 European Championships, where he was a part of Portugal’s victory over France in the 2016 final.

Following Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Cuisance, this is Venezia’s second January transfer window acquisition.
After 20 games, they are 17th in Serie A, one point above the relegation zone and with a game in hand on their major competitors.
