COVID-19 Vaccine: Drunkards Association Delivers Strong Message To Ghana Health Service

The Ghana Drunkards Association has said that its members will be unable to adhere to the one-week alcohol-free period before and after receiving the COVID-19 vaccination. According to the Association’s President, Moses Onyah, also known as Moses Drybone, this will have an impact on members’ health.

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) commenced public COVID-19 immunization on Monday, August 16, 2021. The Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions have received a total of 177,600 single doses of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccination. Persons who are illegible, like those who are receiving AstraZeneca vaccinations, are urged not to consume alcohol to avoid any unwanted side effects.

Moses Drybone, on the other hand, believes the GHS made a mistake by not involving them in a stakeholders conference before to the vaccination launch. “If it had been three or four days, we would have contemplated not drinking wine because my people cannot survive for a week,” he stated in an interview on Monday.

Moses Drybone claimed he can’t stop his members from drinking after the vaccination, despite the fact that he indicated they were prepared to take it.
