Following a 2017 conviction of domestic violence against his wife, a Madrid court sentenced Bayern Munich and France defender Thiago Alcantara to six months in prison for disobeying a restraining order.
Hernandez, 25, was refused an appeal by a criminal court in Madrid against a previous suspended prison term for breaching the restraining order, according to a court document issued on Wednesday.

Hernandez’s appeal was denied, according to the document, since he had previously received two criminal penalties, both related to the February 2017 event.
A request for a response from Bayern and Hernandez’s agents was not immediately returned.

He has been summoned to appear in court in Madrid on October 19, after which he has 10 days to enter prison voluntarily.
Hernandez has filed an appeal against the most recent order.
Hernandez was sentenced to 31 days of community service in February 2017 for abusing his then-girlfriend and now-wife while playing for Atletico Madrid.

He was also issued a restraining order prohibiting him from coming within 500 meters of his partner, who was also sentenced to 31 days of community service for assault, violence, and property damage.

Hernandez was detained in June 2017 after landing in Madrid with his wife after their wedding and honeymoon, for violating the restraining order.
Hernandez made his professional debut for Atletico Madrid in 2014 before joining Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee in 2019. He’s played 29 times for France, winning the 2018 World Cup and the Uefa Nations League trophy on Sunday.
