The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that it would stop the services of 34 registration centers around the nation beginning Monday, October 25.

These facilities may be found at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Registrar General’s Department (RGD), and the NIA Headquarters.

The Authority noted in a news release on Friday that it aims to enable it to deploy workers to its numerous permanent offices around the nation.

The ruling also allows “NIA to provide its numerous services, including new registrations, card collection or issuance, card replacement, and personal record updating, to the populace’s doorstep.”

In terms of service resumption, the NIA said that “in all, 16 Regional Offices, 275 NIA operating District Offices, and the Premium Registration Centre at the NIA Head Office would be open across the nation, beginning Wednesday, 3rd November 2021.”

Registration services, however, will be accessible at the NIA Head Office on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Authority’s Client Service Unit has expressed profound sorrow for any difficulty caused by the temporary suspension of its services for the specified period.
