The Regional Minister, Hon Okyere Darko, has been the Member of Parliament for Takoradi since 2008. In 2016, he won the parliamentary seat with 70% votes.
By his own words, he says his hard work will give him victory.
“We promised and we delivered. We have been consistent and shown that we are not liars but when we promise we deliver on those promises,” the Minister said.
Hon. Okyere Darko spoke to us after casting his vote at Robert Mensah polling station in Takoradi, he said, he is also sure that the NPP will also increase its seats in the Western Region to 15 seats. Currently, the Party holds 13 of the 17 seats in the region.
“Our target is 15, but we know that we can get (an) extra two… The other two are Wassa East and Ellembelle. These are the other two that we need to struggle and get,” said the Minister.
