Alpha Condé, the former President of the Republic of Guinea, is still in shock after soldiers detained him and dissolved his administration in a coup d’état last week, despite his good health.

Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Chairperson of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers and Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, announced this at a news conference.
Madam Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey also said that the high-level mission deployed to Conakry, Guinea’s capital, to investigate the situation will give its findings tomorrow [September 16, 2021] to the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government’s emergency session in Ghana.

She also stated that they demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the deposed president as well as all others detained during the coup.
“Physically he looked very well, and we even went as far as talking to his doctor who ascertained that indeed he is very well physically but anybody who has gone through a traumatic experience will not be well mentally not to say that we found anything wrong with him, but he was still in a state of shock
